Today Kapu-Meniya.in : The central government has extended the period of lockdown due to Corona virus till May 3, but exemption has been given for harvesting, purchasing and farming related activities of Rabi crops.
Today A guideline was released today by the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding Lockdown Part-2. According to the guidelines, those who were earlier exempted for agricultural work will continue. Agencies procuring agricultural produce and minimum support price, MSP, are exempted. It has been announced to give exemption to mandis operated by Agricultural Produce Market Committee, APMC. Movement of essential commodities like fruits, vegetables, food grains, milk, pulses etc. from one state to another is also exempted from lockdown-2. Farmers are allowed to reap and sow their crops, as well as agencies are allowed to buy the produce of the farmers. Fish farming activities have been allowed.
Today Tea, coffee and rubber producers are also exempted along with milk
Today Only 50 percent of the workers will be able to work in tea plantation, coffee and rubber fields, as well as 50 percent for its processing, marketing and sales etc. The purchase, sale and processing of milk is also exempted from lockdown-2. Transportation will also be exempted for the delivery of milk and milk products. Apart from this, exemption will continue for the work of animals as well as poultry farming. Suppliers of raw material supplies, such as maize and soy, along with fodder industries for livestock are also exempted. Those working in the cowshed will also be exempt during this period. The food processing industry as well as jute companies have been allowed to work by following social distance.
Today Farmers and laborers will continue to work in the fields
Today Farmers and agricultural laborers are also allowed to work in the fields. In addition, mandis operated by the Agricultural Produce Market Committee or notified (mandis) by the State / UT Government have been permitted to operate. As per the guidelines issued by the Central Government, the State, Union Territory Government or the industry has allowed the purchase of produce directly from farmers, farmer groups. States as well as union territories can promote decentralized marketing and procurement at the village level.
Today Exemption to fertilizer, pesticide and seed production and packaging units as before
Today Custom hiring centers providing small and marginal farmers with farming machines have been exempted. Apart from this, the production and packaging units of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds have also been exempted earlier. Shops repairing agricultural machinery, its spare parts (including supply chain) and repairing shops will remain open. The manufacturing, distribution and retail sector of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds have also been allowed to remain open. Sowing and harvesting machines are allowed to be moved from one place to another.

Today Veterinary hospitals are also allowed to open. According to the new guidelines, permission has been given by the government to allow the movement of machines for cutting and sowing of irrigation and farming equipment (out of state and out of state) even before the government has retained this exemption.
